Today we took the tube from South Kensington to Tower Hill and spent the day at the Tower of London. We were taken around by a tour guide called the "Beefeater" (like the gin) or Yeoman Guard. They are in charge of guarding the Tower of London and The Crowned Jewels. They actually live there with their families. They must have at least 20 years within the British services and be of admiral or sergeant status. It was very interesting. After he finished his spiel, we were able to wander around and walked around the torture chamber, bloody tower, the old guards' chamber houses, and many historical displays of artifacts and replicas of how procedures were conducted throughout the tower back in the day. We were able to see the gorgeous Tower Bridge and the bank of River Thames. It was kind of a chilly day, but the sun was out so that made it better. We ate at the cafe within the Tower and I had some amazing rosemary sausage wrapped within a biscuit with fries. I also came upon a Starbucks so I was a happy camper today :)Hope all is well back home. Love you all :)
